Who We're Becoming
Introverted Black Girls is more than a name, it’s a platform. We are a collective space created to amplify voices that are often quieted, overlooked, or misunderstood. Here, being introverted is not a weakness but a strength, a lens through which creativity, reflection, and growth thrive. We are writers, thinkers, builders, and dreamers coming together to ignite possibility, build community, and grow in ways that feel authentic.
“If you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else.” -Toni Morrison
What We're Growing
We love stories that challenge silence, creativity that speaks louder than noise, and community that feels like home. We love the balance of solitude, connection and knowing that both have a place here. We love books, art, wellness, and the small rituals that make life feel intentional. Most importantly, we love building bridges that bring people together, whether through words, projects, or the ideas we dare to share.
“The place in which I’ll fit will not exist until I make it.” -James Baldwin
Why Connection Matters
At first, I was just trying to start a business. Everybody kept saying, “Build something of your own, get out of the 9–5.” So I figured... maybe a plant store. Simple enough.
But the more I started creating this site, the more I realized… I was smiling while doing it because I was beginning to realize just how much potential this had. I started adding pieces that had nothing to do with selling plants and everything to do with what I was feeling. It slowly turned into something I needed. And if i needed this space, maybe someone else does too.
That’s what Introverted Black Girls is.
A space to figure it out. To breathe. To create something that feels good. To grow at your own pace. There are still so many more aspects I want to add, but with time!
(Plants still on the way!)
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” -Alice Walker
